Legislative Assistants <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Perkins briefly reviewed the contents of a memo dated <br />April 2, 1987 entitled "Survey of Local Government Council Support <br />Efforts." <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested additional time to review the memo and by <br />the informal consent of the Council the matter was continued to May 4, <br />1987. <br /> <br />1986-87 Capital Improvements Program Update <br /> <br />City Engineer Robert Eichblatt showed a slide presentation of capital <br />construction projects under construction or planned for the near future, <br />including but not limited to, the Business Enterprise Center, the Edinger <br />1-55 off-ramp, a major street and alleys improvement program, several <br />downtown parking structures, and Fire Station No. 9. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested that staff investigate possible <br />undergrounding of utilities in conjunction with the installation of <br />concrete alleys. <br /> <br />Mayor Young encouraged staff to solicit neighborhood participation in <br />specific improvement projects, such as alley improvements within <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Consent Calendar Review <br /> <br />Councilmembers expressed no concerns with respect to Consent Calendar <br />Items, although Councilmember Acosta requested to review the plans for <br />Item 2.E., Security Fencing at the Regional Transportation Center. <br /> <br />At 4:05 p.m., the Council recessed, and reconvened in the Council <br />Chambers at 4:14 p.m., with all Councilmembers present except <br />Councilmembers Acosta and Hart. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />MOTION: Approve staff recommendations on the following Consent Calendar <br /> items: <br /> <br /> MOTION: McGuigan SECOND: May <br /> <br /> VOTE: AYES: Griset, May, McGuigan, Pulido, Young <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Acosta, Hart <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />1.A. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of April 6, <br /> <br />1987 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 99 APRIL 20, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
