This <br />food service includes daily meals for all inmates, inmate commissary <br />service, and operation of the staff cafeteria in the Police Administration <br />Building. The existing agreement expired in January 2006. <br /> <br />The Police Department staff recommends a one-year renewal of the agreement <br />with Aramark through January 2007 in an amount not to exceed $1,101,200. <br />The proposed agreement amount reflects the higher inmate population and an <br />increase in the rate per meal from $1.939 to $2.00. Under the terms of the <br />original agreement, the price per meal may be adjusted annually in relation <br />to the cost of living standards. Staff recommends renewal of the agreement <br />in order to continue consistency and efficiency in the Police Department's <br />food services operations. <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
