The program provides funds for <br />projects that tell the stories of California as a unified society and of <br />the many groups of people that together comprise historic and modern <br />California. Approximately $43 million is available to fund projects <br />during the current grant cycle. <br /> <br />The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency requests <br />authorization to submit a grant application in the amount of $511,450 for <br />the historical restoration of Birch Park. Builtin 1910, Birch Park is <br />the oldest park in Santa Ana. The proposed proj ect will construct a <br />replication of the park's historical band stand, a 1,300 square foot <br />storage building, and provide ancillary parking accommodations.
