ARTICLE IV <br />4.0 SALARIES <br />4.1 Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby established a basic compensation plan for all <br />members of the Santa Ana Police Management Association who are now employed or will in <br />the future be employed in any of the designated classifications of employment listed in this <br />Agreement and its attachmentso <br />4.2 Salary Schedule. The basic salary schedule, attached hereto in a matrix form as Exhibit A, is <br />comprised of four (4) steps or rate ranges of pay for sworn (CaIPERS "Safety") employees <br />and five (5) steps or rate ranges of pay for non-sworn (Ca1PERS "Miscellaneous") <br />employees. <br />The steps within each range are identified by the letters "A"through "D" inchsive for sworn <br />(Ca1PER.S "Safety") classifications and "AA" through "D" inclusive for non-sworn <br />(Ca1PERS "Miscellaneous") classifications, with Step "A" being the lowest step for sworn <br />(CaIPF,RS "Safety") and Step "AA" being the lowest step for non-sworn (Ca1PERS <br />"Miscellaneous") classifications. <br />The assignment of classes to salary rate ranges during the term of this Agreement is listed <br />in Exhibit "B," which is attached and made a part hereof as though set forth herein. <br />4.3 Salaries. <br />A. The base salaries of employees covered by this Agreement shall. be adjusted as <br />follows: <br />Effective July 1, 2008, the base salaries of classifications covered by this <br />Agreement shall be increased by eight (8) salary rate ranges (approximately 4%). <br />2. Effective January 1, 2009, the base salaries of classifications covered by this <br />Agreement shall be increased by five (5) salary rate ranges (approximately <br />2.5%). <br />Effective July 1, 2009, there shall be no salary increase for employees covered <br />by this Agreement. <br />4. Effective .ianuary 1, 2010, there shall be no salary increase for employees <br />covered by this Agreement. <br />Effective July 1, 2010, there shall be no salary increase for employees covered <br />by this Agreement. <br />
