MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CXTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALZFORNIA <br /> <br />,JULY ~1, 1987 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:41 p.m., by Mayor Dan Young, in Room <br />147, Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ama. Councilmembers <br />present were Wilson B. Hart, Ron May, Patricia A. McGuigan, and Mayor <br />Young. Also present were City Manager David N. Ream, City Attorney Edward <br />J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Councilmember John Acosta joined the meeting at 5:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Daniel E. Griset was excused due to absence while on City <br />business, and Councilmember Miguel A. Pulido due to attendance at Harvard <br />University. <br /> <br />COUNCIL STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Proposed Santa Ana Museum District <br /> <br />Norman Pfeiffer, Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer, presented a conceptual plan of a <br />proposed Museum District for the area bounded by Broadway, Seventeenth <br />Street, and the Santa Aha Freeway, which would contain cultural <br />facilities, offices, hotels, parking, restaurants, shops, plazas, <br />theaters, streetscape improvements, as well as retail and residential <br />uses. He indicated implementation of the District would be phased with <br />the area along Main Street, approximately 70% of the District, scheduled <br />for Phase I, and the area along the freew~ for Phase II. <br /> <br />Dick Botti, Keyser Marston Associates, briefly reviewed the underlying <br />assumptions, objectives, and strategies relative to establishing the <br />District, and responded to Councilmembers' specific questions. <br /> <br />At 6:40 p.m., the Council recessed, and reconvened in the Council Chambers <br />at 6:47 p.m., with the same Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />222.2 JULY 21, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
