COI, t4ENTS <br /> <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Sgt. Donald Blankenship, President of the Santa Ana Police Benevolent <br />Association, reviewed the process of labor negotiations to date between <br />the City and the PBA. He presented the rationale for the PBA's current <br />salary and benefit requests. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in support of the Santa An~ Police Benevolent <br />Association salary and benefit requests: <br /> <br />Ruben Martinez, 220 W. Third Street <br />Jim Tucker, 2062 S. Rene Drive <br />Priscilla Halmberg, 618 Cypress Avenue <br />John Raya, 4618 Hollyline <br />Zeke Hernandez, 701 E. Fifth Street, #23 <br /> <br />At the request of Council, the City Manager responded ~o issues raised by <br />the previous speakers. The Mayor followed with additional comments on the <br />issues raised by the previous speakers. <br /> <br />Miles Leach, 2025 W. Tenth St., addressed the Council on the matter of <br />Council methods for making decisions on agenda items. <br /> <br />Sean Mill, 617 S. Starboard, addressed the Council on the matter of the <br />vagrant population along East Fourth Street. The matter was referred to <br />the Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />Barbara Antoci, 920 E. Sixth St., addressed the Council concerning the <br />same issue raised by the previous speaker adding that she felt there was <br />no place for the vagrants to go if moved from the Fourth Street area. <br /> <br />Patricia Mill, 617 S. Starboard, addressed the Council concerning the <br />damage done to City sidewalks and residential property by the city-owned <br />trees. <br /> <br />John Raya, 4618 Hollyline, addressed the Council expressing his opinions <br />with respect to the compensation of Board and Commission members and the <br />working relationship which exists between Boards and Commissions and the <br />Council. <br /> <br />At 10:22 p.m., the Council recessed to Closed Session in Room 431, City <br />Hall. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />The Assistant Clerk of the Council announced the Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(B)(1) to confer <br />with its attorney regarding pending litigation. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 236 AUGUST 3, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
