NO. 05-113) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />a~YI72<~ <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to North County Toyota for the purchase of two hybrid <br />utility vehicles in the amount of $67,070.32. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet <br />Division reviews the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid <br />and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. <br /> <br />The Fire Department's Training Division uses four-door utility vehicles <br />to transport fire fighters and equipment to training sites. <br />Additionally, the vehicles are fully stocked with standard emergency <br />equipment to handle responses to fire alarm calls. Due to age and <br />condition, two 1998 Chevrolet Blazers have been approved for <br />replacement in the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 4 and 7, <br />bids were solicited.
