<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 21, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />aA.a <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 sl Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AGREEMENT AMENDMENT WITH THE <br />ORANGE COUNTY CHILDREN'S <br />THERAPEUTIC ARTS CENTER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement amendment with Orange County <br />Children's Therapeutic Arts Center to provide arts and music classes, in <br />an amount not to exceed $10,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Orange County Children I s Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC) agreed to <br />establish a partnership with the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br />Agency to provide arts and music classes for the public. The OCCTAC will <br />offer courses in electric gui tar, flute, drawing, and singing at their <br />facili ty and at the Santa Ana Lawn Bowling Clubhouse. Fees are charged <br />for these classes and OCCTAC will receive 70 percent of the revenues, with <br />the City retaining the remaining 30 percent. <br /> <br />OCCTAC currently has a $12,000 agreement with the Community Development <br />Agency for Communi ty Development Block Grant Funds. In addition, OCCTAC <br />has a $17,826 agreement with Community Development Agency to provide <br />literacy and basic skills through technology and the arts services. The <br />cost of the additional services will be approximately $10,000, bringing <br />the total contract amount to $39,826. <br /> <br />258-1 <br />
