LssO 1/26/06 RESOLUTION NO. 2006- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR THE LEARNING DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY TO BE FUNDED IN PART FROM FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE TITLE II DELINQUENCY PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION, CORRECTIONS STANDARDS AUTHORITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and declares as follows: A. The City of Santa Ana desires to undertake a certain project designated the "Learning Development Strategy" to be funded in part from funds made available through the Title II Delinquency Prevention and Intervention Program administered by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Corrections Standards Authority (hereafter referred to as CSA). B. Procedures established by the CSA require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the state. Section 2. The City Manager of the City of Santa Ana is authorized, on behalf of the Santa Ana City Council, to submit a grant application in the amount of $200,000.00, to continue the Leadership Development Strategy at the McFadden Learning and Technology Center, and to sign and approve on behalf of Santa Ana City Council a Grant Award Agreement including any extensions or amendments thereof. Section 3. Any liability arising out of the performance of the Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the City of Santa Ana. The State of California and CSA disclaim responsibility for any such liability. Section 4. Grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by the City of Santa Ana. Resolution No. 2006- Page 1 of 2 55A-3
