Sopp & Son for the purchase of two cargo <br />vans in the amount of $44,177.50. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet <br />Division reviews the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid <br />and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. Currently, hybrid <br />trucks are not manufactured in the three-quarter ton category. <br />The Public Works Agency's Maintenance Division utilizes specially <br />equipped vehicles to perform graffiti removal citywide. The graffiti <br />removal crews perform their work with ten vehicles including pickup <br />trucks, stake bed trucks and cargo vans to transport staff, paint <br />supplies and equipment to job sites. Due to age, condition and mileage <br />in excess of 73,000 miles, two 1998 Chevrolet vans have been budgeted <br />and approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 18 and 20, 2006, and <br />bids were solicited.
