Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet <br />Division reviews the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid <br />and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. Currently, hybrid <br />trucks are not manufactured in the three-quarter ton category. <br />Various City departments utilize large trucks to perform routine <br />business. The Community Preservation Division of the Planning and <br />Building Agency uses small pickup trucks for inspectors to perform <br />enforcement duties including removing illegal street vending carts by <br />hand loading the carts into the truck beds. To follow safety <br />guidelines, a three-quarter ton truck with a lift gate has been <br />approved. The Public works Agency's Water Services Division assigns <br />supervisors and crews to City vehicles to transport staff and equipment <br />to job sites. The contract will provide a new larger tonnage truck to <br />transport heavy volumes of emergency equipment such as sand bags, <br />barricades and tools. <br />221-1 <br />LS :3133 <br />
