PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Marry Orth, 307 Duke Lane, requested the City investigate the possible <br />establishment of lighting standards for mobilehome parks. <br /> <br />Pat Mill, 617 Starboard, requested the Council adopt an ordinance baning <br />fireworks. <br /> <br />John Raya, 4618 W. Hollyline, spoke in opposition to granting a permit for <br />the use of Centennial Park for a Gay Festival and Parade. <br /> <br />Merle Rabine, 401 E. Bishop, spoke with regard to Constitutional <br />guarantees with respect to all groups of citizens. <br /> <br />Jon Tucker, lOO1 VanNess, expressed his concurrence with the statements of <br />previous speaker Raya. <br /> <br />Virjean Leatherman, 901 N. Wright, urged the Council to deny any request <br />for a variance from Caltrans with respect to the widening of the <br />Freeway adjacent to her property. She was referred to the City Manager <br />for assistance with resolution of a parking problem on her property by the <br />Ma~vor. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan urged the listening audience to attend the Drum and <br />Bugle Corps Competition sponsored by the Santa Ana Winds beginning at 7:30 <br />p.m. on July 8, 1989 at the Santa Aha Stadium. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta submitted the names of Jim Sumerow and Hal Gosse as <br />his nominees for appointment to the Charter Review Committee. In <br />response to his question, the Deputy City Manager indicated staff would be <br />providing the Council with language regarding use of City parks by <br />non-profit organizations within two weeks. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta also requested copies of all letters regarding the <br />Gay Pride event be forwarded to him from the Council Services Department. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 199 JULY 3, 1989 <br /> <br /> <br />
