PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Carl Barnes, 814 E. Third St., requested assistance from the Council <br />regarding abatement of alcoholic and drug-related problems in his <br />neighborhood. The Mayor requested the Police Chief meet with Mr. Barnes <br />regarding law enforcement efforts in his neighborhood, and suggested <br />Mr. Barnes attend COBRA meetings (Clean Up Our Business and Residential <br />Areas) in order to learn how citizens might be more effective in reducing <br />neighborhood social problems. <br /> <br />Don Lovella, 13002 Springwood Drive, explained that the permitted use on <br />the property at 2422 W. 17th Street had been changed from retail to <br />warehouse by the Planning Department, which was impacting his ability to <br />attract a tenant to the property. The Mayor requested the City Manager <br />expedite the granting of a variance for the property by December l, 1989. <br /> <br />Florence Leach, 2025 W. Tenth Street, expressed concern that the Bristol <br />Corridor Redevelopment Plan was scheduled for hearing at 5:30 p.m. instead <br />of a later time, which would allow for more public participation. <br /> <br />Miles Leach, 2025 W.
