MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />OCTOBER 16, 1989 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:20 p.m. in Room 423, City Hall, <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, by Mayor Dan Young. Councilmembers present were <br />John Acosta, Ron May, Patricia A. McGuigan, Rick Norton, and Miguel A. <br />Pulido. Also present were City Manager David N. Ream, City Attorney <br />Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Councilmember Daniel E. Griset was absent. <br /> <br />COUNCIL STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR BOWERS MUSEUM EXPANSION <br /> <br />Art Strock, President of the Bowers Museum Corporation Board, reported to <br />the Council the proposed 60,000 square-foot expansion project for the <br />Bowers Museum was ahead of schedule and under previous budget estimates. <br /> <br />Strock and Board members Roger Torriero and John Rau responded to specific <br />questions from Councilmembers relative to a model of the proposed <br />expansion particularly with regard to the dining, office and patio areas, <br />and accessibility to the facility. <br /> <br />Mayor Young expressed the Council's appreciation to the Board for its <br />efforts on the project. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR REVIEW <br /> <br />Councilmembers expressed no concerns regarding Consent Calendar items. <br /> <br />RECESSED - 4:50 P.M. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 5:05 P.M. - All Councilmembers present <br />except Councilmember Griset. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />SERVICE AWARDS - MAYOR YOUNG <br /> <br />John Briones, Street Maintenance Supv. <br />Public Works Agency - 30 years of service <br /> <br />Emmett Sampson, Meter Reader Collector <br />Finance and Management Services - 25 <br />years of service <br /> <br />Raymond Yanez, Sanitation Inspector <br />Public Works Agency - 20 years of service <br /> <br /> FILE 120.35 <br /> 298 OCTOBER 16, 1989 <br /> <br /> <br />
