Bristol, Santa Ana CA 92706 (714) 542-0540 amtecolote@ao1.com <br /> <br />Purpose: <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />Proposal <br /> <br />To provide training and technical assistance to Santa Ana Parks & <br />Recreation Department's Parent Component in the development and <br />implementation of a Fatherhood Conference. The objectives are to <br />enhance a supportive communication environment that is more inclusive <br />offathers, improve the effectiveness of the father-Pride club partnership, <br />to expand the fathers involvement in their communities, and to address <br />needs from fathers to improve their involvement in their children's <br />education. <br /> <br />Most conferences are mental exercises where experts are brought in to <br />provide information that was gathered as needed via questionnaires or <br />short topical conversations. This Fatherhood conference will work with <br />the community fathers for a period of time to go beyond mental exercises <br />assisting in the development of educated community volunteers as well <br />as provide a plan for the community fathers want their children to grow up <br />In. <br /> <br />1) We will select/ask for volunteers (men/fathers) from the community <br />via the pride clubs and committees to form a fathers committee and: <br /> <br />A) assist in planning the conference <br />B) receive information about fatherhood involvement <br />C) work through the information to plan a presentation <br />D) make a presentation at the conference <br />E) plan their community involvement <br /> <br />2) Facilitate a series of 6 workshops prior to the conference where the men <br />are trained to make a presentation either as a workshop or as part of a <br />community panel. <br /> <br />3) FacilitateEiil workshop post-conference to channel the fathers energy <br />into actual hands on involvement. v.I <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />
