MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 20, 1989 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:28 p.m. in Room 423, City Hall, <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, by Mayor Dan Young. Councilmembers present were <br />John Acosta, Ron May, Patricia A. McGuigan, Rick Norton, and Miguel A. <br />Pulido. Also present were City Manager David N. Ream, City Attorney <br />Edward d. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset joined the meeting at 4:55 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />INDOOR SWAP MEET STANDARDS (ITEM 85.A.) <br /> <br />Ken Adams, Assistant Planning Manager, showed slides depicting indoor swap <br />meet operations at four locations in the City. He indicated staff had <br />received complaints regarding parking deficencies at swap malls where the <br />current parking ratio requirement of ten spaces per thousand square feet <br />of building area had not been met. <br /> <br />Dave Lopez and Sandra Thrower, community residents spoke in opposition to <br />lowering swap meet standards.
