RECESSED - JOINT CLOSED SESSION WITH CO~4UNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - <br />6-'18 P.M. - ROOM 147 - 6.'18 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer <br />with the City Attorney regarding pending litigation which had been <br />initiated fomally, and to which the City was a party, to wit, Mack vs. <br />City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 6:52 P.M. - All Councilmembers present <br />except Mayor Young. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT (X~ THE CO)~4UNII"f REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (See Agency <br />Minutes.) <br /> <br />70.A. CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />No action was taken out of Closed Session. <br /> <br />PUBLIC CO~4ENTS <br /> <br />Larry Hancock, Jr., lO17 E. Virginia, expressd concern to the Council <br />regarding rubberized railroad grade crossings which he felt were an <br />extreme safety hazard under wet conditions. The City Manager indicated he <br />would discuss this issue with railroad personnel. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COn, lENTS <br /> <br />The Councilmembers wished those in the audience, staff and the listening <br />public a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Norton's inquiry relative to the denial by <br />the Police Chief to place California Towing on the Santa Aha Police Towing <br />rotation list, the City Attorney explained the matter was not appealable <br />to the Council. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Pulido and Mayor Pro Tem Acosta, the Police <br />Chief provided an update relative to the City's program regarding illegal <br />of discharge of firearms on New Year's Eve. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan cautioned one and all not to drink and drive, <br />especially during the Holiday Seaon. <br /> <br />In response to Mayor Pro Tem Acosta, the City Manager explained the City <br />was currently processing an Environmental Impact Report for the proposed <br />sports arena, and that the project had been considered by the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 383 DECEMBER 20, 1989 <br /> <br /> <br />
