The proposed project would not <br />require septic tanks or alternative disposal systems. <br />VII. HAZARDS/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br />The following analysis is based on a Limited Phase II <br />Environmental Site Assessment prepared for the project site <br />by Rincon Consultants in November of 2005. The report is <br />presented in its entirety in Appendix A. <br />A. Create a significant hazard to the public or the <br />environment through the routine transport, use or <br />disposal of hazardous materials? <br />Less Than Significant Impact <br />Setting <br />The Fairhaven Memorial project site is currently and <br />historically been used for agriculture purposes. There is <br />the potential the residual pesticides and metals could be <br />present in the soils. These potential contaminates could <br />pose a hazard to workers if not properly disposed of or if <br />contained in surface water runoff could result in adverse <br />water quality impacts. <br />A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment was prepared to <br />determine the presence of residual pesticides and metals in <br />the soil. A total of eight borings were conducted on the <br />project site at depths ranging from 0.5 -feet to 3 -feet <br />below grade. A total of 40 soil samples were collected. The <br />soil samples were tested for pesticides in accordance with <br />Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8081A and for <br />metals by EPA method 6010B and 7471A. <br />Pesticides <br />The EPA has developed risk-based Preliminary Remediation <br />Goals for various pollutants in soil.
