NO.06-028) <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Wright Line LLC to furnish and install dispatch console <br />furniture in the amount of $22,735.94. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fire Department's Emergency Communications Office requires specially <br />designed dispatch consoles for 9-1-1 response operations. In December <br />2004, the Fire Department accepted funds from the State of California 9-1-1 <br />Emergency Communications Office to replace or upgrade the department's <br />dispatch consoles. The Fire Department selected Wright Line, LLC as the <br />supplier for their dispatch consoles. The new dispatch consoles are <br />ergonomic and designed for high intensity, multi-user, 24/7 operations to <br />suit the different needs of staff. The funding provides for approximately <br />65 percent of the cost of the new consoles.
