REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MARCH 6, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR TASK FORCE <br />INVESTIGATIONS SOFTWARE <br />TRAINING <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF GOUNCIL Ubt ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 16` Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 n Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Council to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Systems Research and <br />Applications Corporation for training services in use of the "Task Force <br />Investigations" software in an amount not to exceed $14,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Currently the Police Department uses Systems Research and Applications <br />Corporation's (SRA) "Task Force Investigations" software, a powerful <br />analytical investigative program to support complex criminal <br />investigations and prosecutions. SRA has agreed to present two 40 -hour <br />Basic "How to Use Investigations" and a 40 -hour "Advanced Investigations" <br />course. This training is essential to ongoing efforts to maintain and <br />develop staff efficiency in the use of the new and enhanced features as <br />well as advanced capabilities of the software. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Department's EDI Grant, Other Contractual <br />Services account (account no. 141-151-6291). <br />Paul M.
