Reject the bids from West Covina Motors, Inc. and Quality Chevrolet as <br />nonresponsive. <br />2. Award a contract to Maurice J. Sopp & Son for the purchase of one <br />extended cab utility truck in the amount of $36,257.88. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program is <br />included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles scheduled for <br />replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation schedule <br />established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet Division reviews <br />the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel <br />Vehicle Acquisition Policy. Currently, hybrid trucks are not manufactured <br />in the one -ton category. <br />The Public Works Agency's Water Resources Division maintains 15 chlorine <br />generation units for water purification at various sites throughout the <br />City. The water production crew delivers 50 -pound bags of salt to each salt <br />reservoir daily. Due to age, condition and mileage, a 1994 GMC one -ton <br />truck has been approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 3 and 6, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited.
