90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Ron Heike, lOlO W. Santa Clara, expressed concern regarding a business <br />that was functioning in his residential neighborhood. The Mayor referred <br />Mr. Heike to the City Attorney's Office for further assistance with this <br />matter. <br /> <br />Jim Tucker, 2062 S. Rene, inquired as to which City agency should be <br />contacted regarding cable television complaints. The City Manager <br />indicated such calls should be referred to the Executive Director of <br />Recreation and Conmnunity Services at 647-5303. <br /> <br />Sean Mill, 617 S. Starboard, Chairman of the Recreation and Parks Board, <br />requested that the Council refer the issue of the possible arming of Park <br />Rangers to the Recreation and Parks Board for study and recommendation. <br /> <br />James McGuigan, 5642 Keelson, encouraged the listening audience to attend <br />the City's Cable Board Meeting scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 1990, <br />and expressed concerns regarding cable television services. <br /> <br />Florence Leach, 2025 W. Tenth St., criticized the City Council for <br />discussing employee personnel matters in a public forum. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Norton requested a report from the Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency with respect to Cable Television rate increases and <br />services. <br /> <br />Councilmember Norton requested the issue of arming the Park Rangers be <br />referred to the Recreation and Parks Board for recommendation. The <br />Council informally agreed to refer the matter to the Board. <br /> <br />Councilmember Norton reported receipt of a comnunication from the Santa <br />Aha Fireman's Benevolent Association which indicated that due to <br />Paramedic training, the staffing level of the fire service would be <br />reduced by two firefighters per shift. He inquired as to whether <br />additional funds might be allocated to the Fire Department to cover this <br />shortage. The City Manager indicated he would review the matter and <br />report to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Norton wished a Happy Birthday to Minnie Miller, age 105, <br />Santa Ana's oldest resident. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pulido encouraged the listening audience to participate in <br />the upcoming census, and thanked staff for all its efforts with regard to <br />the City's Census project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pulido also inquired as to the status of a request by R & R <br />Festival Promotions to hold two special event festivals in the Civic <br />Center Area. The City Manager indicated he would review this matter and <br />report to the Council at the April 2, 1990 meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan expressed congratulations to Mater Dei on its <br />winning the State Basketball Championship. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 82 MARCH 19, 1990 <br /> <br /> <br />
