PROJECTS - MAINTENANCE, CONSTRUCTION OR IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC FACILITIES <br /> <br />RECONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALK, CURB AND GUTTER - MABURY PARK <br />NEIGHBORHOOD - Public Works Agency. PROJ 2160 <br /> <br />A number of individuals were present in the audience with the <br />misunderstanding that Item 3.B. dealt with the removal of liquidambar <br />trees on Cabrillo Park Drive. After explaining that Item 3.B. did not <br />address the issue of removing trees from Cabrillo Park Drive, the Mayor <br />did take testimony from those who had come to address this issue. <br /> <br />After a staff report on the problems created by liquidambar trees by Jim <br />Ross, Executive Director of Public Works, and Larry Christian, Maintenance <br />Services Manager, the following individuals spoke in support of efforts to <br />save the liquidambar trees: <br /> <br />Teri B. Joseph, 1044-F Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Diana Fer~sella, 1022 Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Lorie Rhea, 1225 N. Cabrillo Park Drive <br />John Gallie, 1109 Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Lorrie L. Seidl, 1225 N. Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Sheri Baldwin, 1266-D Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Marguerite Dillon, lO14-B Cabrillo Park Drive <br />Paul Cobb, 1012 Cabrillo Park Drive ~E <br /> <br />Council requested staff work with individuals and neighborhood <br />associations in the Cabrillo Park area to develop a detailed consensus <br />plan with respect to the disposition of the liquidambar trees. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta asked to be included in this process. <br /> <br />MOTION: Approve plans and specifications and authorize advertising for <br /> bids. <br /> <br />MOTION: Pulido SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, May, McGuigan, Norton, Pulido, <br />Young <br />None <br />None PROJ 2160 <br /> <br />RECESSED - 8:58 P.M. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - 9:09 P.M. - All Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />16.8.
