<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />MARCH 20, 2006 <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />RENEW AGREEMENT WITH TERRI <br />OKAZAKI FOR ADMINISTRATIVE <br />SERVICES <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />0> <br />~rx., <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />ITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />------ <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize <br />Clerk of the Council to amend the agreement <br />administrati ve services in an additional amount <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $30,000. <br /> <br />the City Manager and the <br />with Terri Okazaki for <br />of $20,000, for a total <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On August 16, 2004, the City Council accepted a $15 million Urban Area <br />Securi ty Ini tiati ve (UASI) grant from the federal Department of Homeland <br />Securi ty, through the State of California, Office of Homeland Security. <br />This initiative was designed to enhance the domestic preparedness of urban <br />areas by ensuring that all emergency first responders have adequate <br />equipment, training and systems to prevent, respond to, and recover from <br />acts of terrorism. <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Police Department administers the UASI grant and in this <br />capacity often assumes the lead role in acquiring equipment and services. <br />In an effort to facilitate the purchase of UASI grant supported equipment <br />and services, Terri Okazaki was contracted to provide administrative <br />services in support of procurement. Staff recommends amending the <br />agreement as Terri Okazaki has performed well and the Police Department <br />continues to be in need of her services. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds are available in the FY 2004 UASI Grant Other Contractual Services <br />account (account no. 125-331-6291-33112). <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br />'\ " <br /> <br />~L~L kL <br /> <br />Paul M.
