N0.06-014) <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Wilson & Hampton Painting Contractors for painting <br />services in an amount not to exceed $19,843. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Police Department is responsible for the general maintenance of the <br />Police Administration Building and Jail Facility. Painting of the <br />exterior is necessary to repair and prevent damage due to normal <br />exposure to the elements. The contract will provide for painting of <br />the sun exposed east and south facing window mullions. Painting will <br />improve their appearance and help in maintaining clean, attractive <br />facilities. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on December 9 and 12, 2005, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br />14 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />2 Bids received <br />Bids were received and opened on February 27, 2006.
