Councilmember McGuigan thanked Councilmember Pulido for his efforts to <br />promote a successful Census count in Santa Aha. She requested staff <br />consider installing a "curve" hazard sign near the intersection of Sail <br />Street and the 5600 block of Barbette Street. McGuigan commended Fire <br />Safety Analyst Chareta Petruzziello on her presentation of a position <br />paper at the National Conference relative to building codes and standards. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested that the Council meeting be adjourned in <br />honor of Ed Kirby, a member of the City's Economic Development Commission <br />who passed away over the weekend. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pulido requested the meeting also be adjourned in honor of <br />Jack Hall, a former City employee who had also died this past weekend. <br /> <br />At Mayor Pro Tem Acosta's request, Council Services Manager Lorraine <br />Lazzarine agreed to assist Roy Russell, President of the Northwest <br />Homeowners Association, in obtaining answers to questions posed by <br />attendees at a recent Association meeting at which Acosta had been a <br />featured speaker. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta also requested staff provide him with status reports <br />rolative to the issuance of a re-roofing permit to Coween Dickerson. He <br />encouraged the Public Safety Committee to consider as an agenda item, the <br />possible ban of fireworks within the City. Acosta reported five <br />break-ins had recently occurred in his neighborhood and suggested <br />additional police patrol be provided for the near future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset also requested that the Council meeting be adjourned <br />in honor of Jack Hall. <br /> <br />Councilmember May commended the Police Chief on both his personal and his <br />department's performance since his appointment as Police Chief in <br />December, 1988. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 9:37 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to: <br /> <br /> Government Code Section 54957 to consider personnel matters. <br /> <br />RECONVENED AND ADJOURNED - 10:12 P.M. - In honor of Edward Kirby and <br />Jack Newton Hall. <br /> <br />Janice C.
