Coween Dickerson, 2121S. Salta, expressed her opinion that the City has <br />an insufficiency of police officers to serve the community, and urged the <br />improvement of the police recruitment process. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta reported Don Williams, 2605 N. Deodar, had contacted <br />him regarding installation of a sound wall behind his property along the <br />55 Freeway north of 17th Street, and requested assistance from the City in <br />contacting Caltrans to encourage installation of the sound wall. The City <br />Manager indicated he would review the matter and respond this week. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta also expressed concern that the Police Department was <br />harassing the Right Road Billiard Parlor concerning sales from a lunch <br />truck on a site owned by the Billiard Parlor. The City Manager indicated <br />a Land Use Certificate was needed for such a use on the site. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Norton's question, the Police Chief indicated <br />a policy change was in process regarding continuation of benefits for <br />families of City employees who had been called up to serve in the <br />Middle-East crisis. The Police Chief indicated that policy would be <br />provided to the Council on December 10, 1990. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - 8:45 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9{a) to confer with the City Attorney <br />regarding pending litigation which had been initiated formally to which <br />the City was a party, to wit: <br /> <br /> Gonzales vs. City of Santa Aha, et al <br /> Bill Conner, et al vs. City of Santa, et al <br /> Bott vs. City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9{b){1) regarding pending litigation of <br />significant exposure. <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54957.6 to meet with its designated <br />representatives regarding labor relations matters. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 9:ll P.M. - All Councilmembers present <br />except Councilmember Norton. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 346 NOVEMBER 19, 1990 <br /> <br /> <br />
