<br />Lss03/27/06 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a <br />grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of <br />$89,618.00. <br /> <br />B. Grant funding will allow the Police Department to conduct a 21-day <br />enforcement operation specifically targeting seatbelt violations <br />during the national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt compliance <br />campaign. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police, or their designee(s), to execute a grant award agreement with the <br />California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $89,618.00. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and <br />certify the vote adopting this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />,2006. <br /> <br />Miguel A.
