NO. 06-022) <br /> <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award a contract to the Morgan Company to provide and install a truck <br />mounted articulating crane in the amount of $43,141.20 and increase the <br />aggregate limit for miscellaneous crane parts and service in an amount not <br />to exceed $20,000 annually. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program is <br />included in the City's annual budget and identifies vehicles scheduled for <br />replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation schedule <br />established with each department. <br /> <br />The Public Works Agency's Tree Maintenance Division is responsible for <br />maintaining approximately 55,500 trees. A truck mounted crane assists the <br />crew in moving heavy items such as tree stumps, large boxed trees, and <br />fallen trees. Due to age and condition, a 1993 Pal finger articulating <br />crane has been approved for replacement in the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 3 and 6, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited.
