Award a contract to Dominguez General Engineering Contractor, the <br />lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $775,625 for construction of Civic Center Drive <br />Sanitary Sewer Improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $969,900. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The existing sewer mains on Civic Center Drive from Bristol to Flower <br />Streets were built in the 1920's (Exhibit 1). These sewer mains have <br />exceeded their expected life and are deteriorated and undersized. This <br />project will provide for installation of sewer mains, laterals, manholes, <br />and cleanouts. Once completed, the project will increase the capacity of <br />the sewer system as well as eliminate the maintenance problems associated <br />with older and deteriorated sewer mains. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 1 and 3, 2006 and <br />bids were opened on March 4, 2006.
