An amendment to the current agreement with Waste Management for the <br />collection and recycling of construction and demolition debris; <br />2. An amendment to the current agreement with Ware Disposal for the <br />collection and recycling of construction and demolition debris; <br />3. An amendment to the agreement with Madison Materials for sorting, <br />processing and recycling of construction debris. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />In 2005 the City approved agreements for collection and recycling of <br />construction and demolition debris with Waste Management and Ware <br />Disposal. In addition the City approved an agreement with Madison <br />Materials to sort, process and recycle all construction and demolition <br />debris collected and deposited at the facility by Ware Disposal and Waste <br />Management. It is recommended the Council approve amendments to these <br />agreements, extending them through 2018. The amendments will include <br />provisions that will ensure that consumer prices remain competitive. <br /> <br />City staff continues to meet with Ware Disposal to evaluate options for <br />relocating their present processing operation to another, enclosed <br />location and for relocating their hauling operation from their current <br />Logan Lacy location. These meetings will continue as large properties <br />become available. <br /> <br />In addition, the County is expected to act at its next Board meeting on a <br />proposal to increase landfill rates for construction and demolition <br />materials and green waste. That action will serve as the basis for new <br /> <br />25E-1 <br />
