LORRIE BOLDRICK FOR <br />PROVIDING VETERINARY SERVICES <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement amendment with Dr. Lorrie <br />Boldrick, DBA Quillie Acres, to provide veterinary services for the Santa <br />Ana Zoo at Prentice Park for a period of one year, in an additional amount <br />of $33,000, for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $68,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is required by the United States <br />Department of Agriculture to provide veterinary services for the <br />collection of animals maintained at the Zoo. Dr. Boldrick will provide a <br />comprehensive program of preventative and curative medical care for the <br />entire Zoo collection. Dr. Boldrick will visit Zoo facilities a minimum <br />of 12 hours per week and examine the animals' health and sanitation, and <br />assist wi th maintaining complete medical history records for each animal <br />in the animal collection. <br /> <br />Dr. Boldrick currently has an agreement to provide veterinary services to <br />the domestic animal collection in an amount not to exceed $35,000. This <br />agreement amendment will allow the Zoo to centralize the provision of <br />veterinary services by authorizing Dr. Boldrick to also serve as the <br />veterinarian for the exotic animal collection. The cost of the additional <br />services will be approximately $33,000, bringing the total contract amount <br />to $68,000. <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
