Linda Grice, 5501 W. Tampion, representing the Coalition of Social Work <br />Students, spoke regarding the negative impacts of State-level budget <br />reductions on higher education and on Santa Aha schools, and requested <br />Councilmembers convey these concerns to the City's legislative <br />representatives. <br /> <br />Florence Leach, 2025 W. Tenth St., invited the Councilmembers and <br />listening audience to attend the annual Memorial Day Service sponsored by <br />the Orange-Santa Ana-Tustin Tri-City Memorial Committee scheduled for <br />lO:O0 a.m., May 27, 19gl at the Santa Aha Cemetery, 1919 Santa Clara <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Margaret E. Farris, 424 W. Katella, clarified that the rape she spoke of <br />at the previous Council meeting had not occurred in Santa Aha, but in <br />Anaheim at Pearson Park in 1986. She also noted more programs were needed <br />for the homeless. <br /> <br />90.C. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested information from staff regarding Private <br />Industry Council board membership attendance goals and objectives. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan noted May 6-12, 1991 was "Small Business Week" and <br />urged recognition of the contributions of small businesses to the <br />community. <br /> <br />Mayor Young invited those present and the listening audience to attend the <br />Government Leaders Prayer Breakfast scheduled for 7:00 a.m., May lO, 1991 <br />at Templo Calvario, 2609 W. Fifth Street. <br /> <br />Councilmember Richardson commended the members of the Downtown Santa Aha <br />Business Association for its successful Cinco de Mayo celebration, and the <br />French Park Neighborhood for its "Home Tour." He also urged the listening <br />audience to vote in the upcoming special election scheduled for May 14, <br />1991. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Pulido requested staff provide him with information <br />regarding litter laws in Santa Aha and suggested the Council might wish to <br />discuss the issue of litter laws at a Council Study Session. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 7:03 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to <br />Closed Session pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(b){1) to confer with the City Attorney <br />regarding pending litigation of significant exposure. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAI4BERS - 7:14 P.M. - All Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 129 MAY 6, 1991 <br /> <br /> <br />
