<br />"'" <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />PARK DEVELOPMENT/JOINT USE FACILITIES <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE <br />July 1, 2003 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />The meeting was convened at 5:50 p.m. in the City Hall, Room 831. <br /> <br />The following Council Members were present: <br /> <br />Jose Solorio <br />Claudia Alvarez <br />Mike Garcia <br /> <br />Staffs present were: Gerardo Mouet, Assistant Director, PRCSA <br />Joe Fletcher, City Attorney <br />Ron Ono, Park PlarminglDesign Mgr., PRCSA <br />Mike Lopez, Park Superintendent, PRCSA <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />ACTION ITEM: Minutes of May 6, 2003 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />2. JOINT USE UPDATE ON HECTOR GODINEZ HIGH SCHOOL AT CENTENNIAL <br />""" PARK <br />Staff presented the current status and schedule on Hector Godinez High School. The <br />District's construction funding is available and the construction escrow agreement is being <br />finalized. A three-year phase out agreement with the County of Orange is also being <br />processed for approval. District anticipates the Heritage Museum Agreement will be <br />approved this month. <br />ACTION ITEM: Schedule discussion on the Joint Use portion of the Agreement when <br />Hector Godinez High School is under construction. <br /> <br />3. UPDATE ON FACILITY USE POLICY <br />Due to the high demand for athletic fields and facilities, a committee was formed to prepare a <br />draft Facility Use Policy to identify a process in reserving City park facilities. The <br />committee, made up of Recreation and Park Board members and City staff met with all the <br />sports users to obtain input and explain the reason for preparing a policy. The committee <br />also reviewed policies from other cities. To ensure communication on facility reservations, <br />the agency has restructured the divisions and combined reservations, facility attendants, park <br />rangers, and facility maintenance under one manager. Staff anticipates the policy will be <br />implemented in the month of August. <br />ACTION ITEM: Submit the draft policy to all City Council members. <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />.
