details on the consultant contract recently awarded to <br />former Community Redevelopment Commission members <br />Spevacek and Rosenow. <br /> <br />Acosta also reported that delayed implementation of the City's <br />new Development Standards was negatively impacting a business <br />owner who was attempting to reopen on South Main Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Pulido requested that staff work with Pedro Garcia <br />to develop alternatives for Garcia's property at 807 N. Garfield. <br />(See Minutes pages 84-85.) <br /> <br />In response to Pulido's inquiry, the Police Chief indicated he <br />would check the status of the automatic speed indicators which <br />had recently been purchased by the Police Department for use in <br />traffic enforcement. <br /> <br />Councilmember Richardson commended the Wilshire Square <br />Neighborhood Association on its recent successful home tour, and <br />Allen Doby and Jenny Rios for their conduct of a successful anti- <br />gang rally. <br /> <br />In response to Mayor Young's inquiry, Parks/Landscape Design <br />Manager Ron Ono, provided a status report on the Segerstrom <br />Triangle landscaping project in the Saddleback High School area <br />and indicated he would send a schedule of the planned <br />improvements to the neighborhood association in that area. <br /> <br />Mayor Young observed that random unsightly growth of palm trees <br />was occurring along Warner Avenue between Bristol and Flower <br />Streets, and requested staff schedule the area for maintenance. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - 7:43 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the city Council was recessing <br />to Closed Session pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the City <br />Attorney regarding pending litigation which had been <br />initiated formally and to which the City was a party, to <br />wit: <br /> <br />Trevino vs. City of Santa Ana (Worker's Compensation) <br />Billings vs. city of Santa Ana (Worker's Compensation) <br />Ortiz vs. City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 7:53 P.M. - Ail Councilmembers <br />present except Councilmember McGuigan who was absent. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 159 JUNE 3, 1991 <br /> <br /> <br />
