<br />~ <br /> <br />Entertainment will occur in both showmobile stages. The following groups have <br />tentatively confirmed to perform: <br />. Ballet Folklorico Renacimiento <br />. Academy of International Dance <br />. Orange County High School of the Arts <br />. Mexican Cultural Center of Orange County <br />. Jodaiko Japanese Drum Ensemble of UCI <br />. O.C. Department of Education Salsa Teens Group "Sabor Latino" <br /> <br />Staff anticipates the event will attract a minimum of 10,000 participants between <br />the ages of 8 - 21 years old. <br /> <br />3. MOTHER'S DAY FESTIVAL <br />The second annual Mother's Day festival will be conducted on Saturday, May 10, <br />2003, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the Santa Ana Stadium. Admission to the <br />event will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids 12 years and under. <br /> <br />Last year's attendance was approximately 2,000 people. The event cost was <br />approximately $29,353, which was raised through ticket sales, private donations, <br />and City General Fund. <br /> <br />....... <br /> <br />A letter requesting corporate sponsorship was sent out to various companies. At <br />this time, Tustin Nissan Dealership offered to provide free advertisement and <br />Mervyn's Corporate Office is considering making a donation for this event. <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />1) Council Committee requested staff to look at setting up a photo booth at the <br />event. <br />2) Council member Garcia indicated he would contact the Honda Dealership for <br />A possible donation. <br />3) Council member Alberta Christy indicated she would contact Crevier BMW <br />and Don Kennedy for possible donations. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />EDUCATION AND YOUTH PROGRAMS CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE <br />MEETING DATEITIME DISCUSSION. <br />The Committee agreed to meet on the first Thursday of each month at 5:45 p.m. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />None <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS <br />None <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />City Council Committee on <br />Education & Youth Programs - Minutes <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />February 6, 2003 <br />
