Award a contract to Ken Thompson, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$337,101.75 for construction of Raitt Street/McFadden Avenue Sanitary <br />Sewer Improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $421,400. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Sewer mains on Raitt Street between McFadden Avenue and Cubbon Street and <br />McFadden Avenue between Raitt and Townsend Streets have exceeded their <br />expected life and are deteriorated and undersized (Exhibit 1). This <br />proj ect will provide for installation of new sewer mains, laterals, <br />manholes and cleanouts. Once completed, the proj ect will increase the <br />capacity of the sewer system as well as eliminate the maintenance <br />problems associated with older and deteriorated sewer mains. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 20 and 22, 2006 and <br />bids were opened on March 23, 2006.
