REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />APRIL 17, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />BIANNUAL ATTENDANCE REPORT <br />OCTOBER 2005 THROUGH MARCH <br />2006 <br />Qyocation 1st <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />~tli.-~-^-----~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1~' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file Boards and Commissions Biannual Attendance Report. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Boards and Commissions Attendance Report is prepared biannually to <br />inform the Council regarding member attendance at Board or Commission <br />meetings. <br />Pursuant to Council policy, the City Council may remove board or <br />commission members who incur four unexcused absences within the six-month <br />reporting period. Additionally, City Charter Section 901 provides that <br />three consecutive unexcused absences would result in the vacation of a <br />board or commission position. <br />Examination of attendance reports for the period ending March 31, 2006 <br />revealed that no current members have exceeded the limits for permitted <br />absences. Therefore, the only action required is to receive and file the <br />report. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />~y~Patricia E.
