NO. 04-030) <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />FOR ^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s1 Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2~d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />C TY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Renew the contracts for plumbing services for a one-year period in the <br />annual aggregate amount not to exceed $100,000 with the following vendors: <br />Coast Plumbing, Heating, and Air, Inc. <br />Orange Coast Plumbing, Inc. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City maintains in excess of 50 buildings including Fire stations, <br />recreation and senior centers, park restrooms, and libraries as well as <br />City Hall and the Corporate Yard. Plumbing services are required at times <br />by all City departments for the purposes of drain cleaning, leak repair, <br />and general maintenance as well as installations of water heaters, faucets, <br />basins, and toilets. Occasionally, a leak or breakage will require an <br />immediate response to maintain safety and prevent additional damage. The <br />contracts for plumbing service provide fixed pricing for both maintenance <br />and emergency services for all City departments. <br />On April 19, 2004, the City Council awarded contracts to Coast Plumbing, <br />Heating, and Air, Inc. and Orange Coast Plumbing, Inc. for a two-year <br />period with provision for two one-year renewals. The vendors <br />to renew the contracts without an increase in pricing.
