Orange Road, requested assistance from the City Council in replacing <br />the fire gates at the westerly end of Orange Road with a more aesthetic barrier or a block <br />wall. The Mayor referred the matter to staff for appropriate action. <br /> <br />James McGuigan, 5642 Keelson, noted that the commendation of David Smith for 25 years <br />of service with the Police Department had brought to mind another person who should be <br />recognized for exceptional volunteer service to the City, George Woo, who was recently <br />deceased. McGuigan also urged the Council and the listening audience to attend the session <br />for determining final winners in the American Legion Essay Contest scheduled to commence <br />at 7:00 p.m. on January 30, 1992 in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />90.C. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Richardson requested staff work with the Santa Ana Unified School District <br />to demolish two boarded-up single houses on two school sites: one at Martin Luther King <br />Elementary School and the second at Pio Pico Elementary School. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset requested that the City Manager ask CalTrans for a monthly report on <br />the Santa Aha I-5 Widening Project. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Pulido requested that a recognition be prepared for three members of the <br />Fire Department staff for outstanding community service during the Christmas season. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 9:57 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced that the City Council was recessing to Closed Session <br />pursuant to: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 29 JANUARY 21, ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
