Proclamation declaring May 2-9, 1992 as <br />"Clean Air Week" presented by <br />COUNCILMEMBER RICHARDSON to Kathy <br />Santoro, member of the American Lung <br />Association Board of Directors and <br />Chairperson for the Clean Air Planning <br />Committee <br /> <br />Proclamation recognizing an exemplary act of <br />civilian bravery presented by <br />COUNCILMEMBER GRISET to Vincent <br />Gonzalez for his heroic role in the <br />apprehension of a criminal suspect at the risk <br />of his own life <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Young praised the Santa Ana community for its composure during the recent Los <br />Angeles riots and thanked the Santa Ana Police and Fire Departments for their added <br />vigilance during the conflict period. <br /> <br />Councilmember Richardson commended Santa Ana Firefighter Lenny Edelman who was shot <br />in the Los Angeles action and thanked City staff, the Downtown merchants, and all those <br />involved in maldng the sacrifice to postpone the Cinco de Mayo festivities. <br /> <br />Mayor Young requested that Firefighter Edelman be recognized for his injury in the line of <br />duty at a future Council meeting. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />The Mayor announced the removal of Items 8.A. and 13.A. for separate consideration by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Motion: Approve staff recommendations on the following Consent Calendar Items. <br /> <br />MOTION: Pulido <br /> <br />VOTE: AYES: <br /> <br /> NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SECOND: Richardson <br /> <br />Acosta, Griset, McGuigan, Norton, Pulido, Richardson, <br />Young <br />None <br /> <br />CITY CO~INCIL MINUTES 124 MAY 4, ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
