<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />MAY 1, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1'1 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2"' Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH <br />TETRA TECH INC. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with <br />Tetra Tech Inc. in the amount of $27,000 for a new contract amount of <br />$247,000 plus $25,000 contingency for a total not to exceed fee of <br />$272,000 for design of a new sewer lift station. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On June 20, 2005, City Council awarded a contract to Tetra Tech Inc. in <br />the amount of $220,000 to design a new sewer lift station. This new <br />facility will be located at the end of San Lorenzo Avenue just east of <br />the existing lift station on South Bristol (Exhibit 1). <br /> <br />Preliminary design and research has indicated that there may be <br />contaminated soil within the project site. This amendment is to <br />reimburse the consultant for soil investigation, testing, and laboratory <br />analysis to determine the exact location, nature and extent of any <br />contaminants. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no environmental impact associated with amending this agreement. <br />Any impact due to soil contamination will be addressed during final <br />design. <br /> <br />25H-1 <br />
