POLITICAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMITS (ACOSTA) <br /> <br />Motion: Instruct the City Attorney to prepare the appropriate language to place the <br /> following proposals on the November 1992 ballot. <br /> <br /> 1. Limit contributions to all city political action committees to $1,000 per <br /> source per four-year election cycle <br /> <br /> 2. Limit mayoral and city council candidates and incumbents to one <br /> campaign committee and one bank account for local elections. <br /> <br /> 3. Provide the authority to the City Council to adopt future amendments to <br /> increase the contribution limits to reflect inflationary increases. <br /> <br /> 4. He noted that since the Symphony receives City <br />funds, the appointment of a Councilmember to the Board in an official capacity could result <br />in a conflict of interest. The Mayor did, however, encourage Mayor Pro Tern Pulido to <br />serve on the Board in the capacity of a private citizen if he so desired. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
