Also describe the specific actions and tasks th<!t would be <br />performed on a day-to-day basis to achieve these goals. <br />See Appendix A for examples. <br /> <br />Goal 1: To provide disadvantaged families In Santa Ana with special needs the <br />opportunities to participate (during non-traditional hours/days) in early intervention! parent <br />and child classes that use the creative arts as a vehicle to enhance students level of social <br />integration, enhance theIr language/communication skills and parent-child relationships. <br /> <br />Objectives: Enroll 60 young disabled children and parents in program. <br />Task Action: <br />a) In collaboration with the S.A.U.S.D. (Depl. of Special Education) identify schools <br />b) In collaboration with the district coordinate and carry out meetings and presentations <br />with the participating schools, principals, teachers and parents <br />c) In collaboration with the district identify participating families <br />d) In collaboration with the district identify and integrate students (IEP) educational and <br />therapeutic goals to therapeutic music & arts sessions <br /> <br />Goal 2: To provide disadvantages families with special needs children and at-risk youth in <br />Santa Ana the opportunity to participate In community-based open house art and music <br />workshops that: a) help foster parent involvement and participation, b) help divert <br />students from negative behavior to productive ones, and c)enhance students self-esteem <br />and social integration. <br /> <br />Objectives: Provide 12 community-based open house workshops throughout the year in <br />collaboration with the Santa Ana Police Department, one workshOp per month, each being three <br />hours in duration, with each workshop serving an average of 100 children/families. <br /> <br />Task Action: <br />a) Identify at-risk community in coordination with the Santa Ana Police Department <br />b) Design and implement publicity plan <br />c) Develop workshop themes, and program design <br />d) Meet with teachers to coordinate workshops <br />e) Purchase art supplies and necessary materials <br />f) Design flyers and circulate flyers in targeted community <br />g) Carry out workshops <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Ef.,tfl ~ II A <br />
