NO. 06-067) <br /> <br /> <br />at~GER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Amend the contract with Penn Van & Storage Co. to increase the aggregate <br />limit by $10,000 for moving services for a total not to exceed $20,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City establishes an annual blanket order list consisting of vendors <br />that provide supplies and services that are required by agencies on a <br />consistent basis. Moving services are required at times by all City <br />departments for the purposes of packing and transporting items during short <br />and long term relocations. The contract for moving services provides fixed <br />pricing for all City departments. <br /> <br />The building occupied by the Fire Department Training Section has been sold <br />and must be vacated by May 19. The Training Section will move to the <br />existing classrooms at the Fire Department's Centennial Park training site. <br />To accommodate the move, Penn Van & Storage was contacted to provide <br />packing and moving services. Penn Van & Storage, a Santa Ana Vendor, <br />offers reliable service, competitive pricing, and has consistently been the <br />lowest responsive bidder on low cost items.
