Councilmember Richardson requested staff provide a copy of the Recreation Ne~ls <br />Assessment Study recently prepared for the Agency to the new Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Between 6:55 p.m. and 7:17 p.m., the Councilmembers, staff, and public proceeded to the <br />Library parking area for a demonstration of fleet and utility equipment used by the <br />Recreation and Community Services Agency. <br /> <br />LIBRARY <br /> <br />The Library's Executive Director Rob Richard discussed the mission and goals of the <br />Library, presented statistics and demographics relating to Library use and expenditures, <br />reported the Library was exploring the use of bookmobiles as adjuncts to School District <br />media centers, and responded to Councilmembers' questions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno expressed interest in re-opening City libraries on Sundays, <br />marketing an "Adopt a Magazine" program on cable television, making school textbooks <br />available in the Library, and expanding computer lab facilities in the City's libraries. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mills suggested establishing an endowment fund for the Library. <br /> <br />CHANGE IN ORIENTATION SCHEDULE <br /> <br />Due to personal schedules conflicting with the orientation sessions, the Council by unanimous <br />informal consent, agreed to cancel the orientation sessions scheduled for December 3 and <br />December 9, 1992. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT - 8:42 P.M. - To 5:30p. m. on December I, 1992 in the Conference <br /> Room of the Santa Ana Library, 26 Civic Center Plaza <br /> <br />Clerk of the Council <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 361 NOVEMBER 30, 1992 <br /> <br /> <br />
