Provide projected numbers of Santa Ana residents to be served, <br />and the kinds of services they would receive if yOUT program is funded. Also describe the specific actions and tasks that would be perfonned on a <br />day~to-day basis to achieve these goals. <br /> <br />See Appendix: A for ex.amples. <br /> <br />Mission: To offer an education and job training to undereducated and unskilled young adults (ages 18-28) <br />so that they may become productive, self-reliant adults. <br /> <br />1. To recruit and train yaung adults in Convalescent Nursing Care. <br />a. Partner with the Regional Occupation Program to offer classes in Convalescent Nursing <br />Assistant (CNA) and Acute Care Nursing. <br />b. CertifY 70 young women per year as Convalescent Nursing Assistants. <br />c. Facilitate the placement of98% of program graduates in local convalescent nursing homes. <br />d. Promote the continuation of training to the Acute Care level of nursing of95% of program <br />graduates. <br />e. Enroll 100% of program participants in Taller San Jose's GED program. <br /> <br />2. Involve 70 Taller San Jose students per year in leadership training through the Personal <br />Empowerment Program. <br />a. Recruit 25 students per semester to participate in 12-week paid leadership training program. <br />b. Partner with Santa Ana College to offer classes and to share resources. <br />c. Work to achieve 95% of PEP participants remaining employed with a living wage 6 months <br />after program completion. <br />d. Create Student Leadership Council to liaise with Taller San Jose staff. <br /> <br />3. Involve 100% of Taller San Jose students in mentoring program and workshops related to building a <br />foundation far success. <br />a. Match each student in target group with a staff mentor. <br />b. Achieve 60% completion rate by mentees of Taller San Jose 7 Steps to Success. <br />c. Encourage 100% focus group participation in seminars related to resume writing, <br />interviewing, and job search. <br />d. Offer mental health counseling for students facing issues related to substance abuse, domestic <br />violence, and/or depression. <br /> <br />4. Broaden educational and job-training opportunities at Taller San Jose. <br />a. Offer High School Subjects and Basics classes in addition to GED program for 100% of <br />Taller San Jose participants. <br />b. Expand High School Subjects and GED classes to offer an afternoon session for up to 25 <br />students. <br />c. Offer a computer technology certificate program for up to 100 students per year. <br />d. Partner with Habitat for Humanity to offer summer internships for Taller San Jose students. <br />e.
