NO. 06-064) <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />elT MANAGER <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />D Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />D Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />D Implementing Resolution <br />D Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award contracts for electrical services for a two-year period, with <br />provision for three one-year renewals exercisable by the City Manager or <br />his designee in the annual aggregate amount not to exceed $200,000 with the <br />following vendors: <br /> <br />Williams & Maher, Inc. <br />Service First Contractors Network, Inc. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City maintains in excess of 50 buildings including Fire stations, <br />recreation and senior centers, park restrooms, and libraries, as well as <br />City Hall and the Corporate Yard. Electrical services are required at <br />times by all City departments for the purposes of rewiring and relamping, <br />installation of outlets, and general electrical maintenance. Occasionally, <br />critical electrical failures require an immediate response to maintain <br />safety or vital operations. The contracts for electrical service provide <br />for both maintenance and emergency services for all City departments. <br />Upcoming electrical projects include wiring of the relocated Fire <br />Department training facilities, annual sports field relamping, and Civic <br />Center electrical repairs. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on April 26 and 28, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited.
