Robert Banuelos, 835 S. Newhope Street, provided the Council with a list of <br />recommendations to raise revenues and reduce expenditures for the FY 93-94 City budget. <br />Ron Heike, 1010 W. Santa Clara, suggested the City Council postpone awarding the trash <br />contract until January 1, 1994 to allow development of a better program. <br />Dolores Otting, Five Star Rubbish, expressed concerns regarding several clauses in the <br />model trash collection contract. <br />The following persons expressed concerns regarding treatment of the homeless in Santa Ana <br />and requested Council to instruct the City Attorney to redraft the City's camping ordinance <br />to exclude "blankets" from camping paraphernalia: <br />Sister Cathy Stein <br />ADE <br />Maria Dzida <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 8:18 P.M. <br />The Clerk of the Council announced that the City Council was recessing to Closed Session <br />pursuant to: <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the City Attorney regarding <br />pending litigation which had been initiated formally and to which the City was a <br />party to wit: <br />City of Santa Ana vs. Eastern Transportation Corridor, and also pursuant to <br />Government Code Section 54957 to consider personnel matters <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 8:33 P.M. <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Continued) <br />Alex Vega, 3900 W. Fifth Street, spoke regarding the recent death of his brother, Rudy <br />Vega, and encouraged the Council and all citizens to work together as a family to "save <br />Santa Ana." <br />Suszan Ales, 2138 N. Candis, expressed concerns regarding the CalTrans detour plan for the <br />Main Street Bridge closure particularly the proposal to close Santa Clara to westbound traffic <br />at the intersection of Broadway and Santa Clara. <br />Sean Mill, 617 Starboard, urged the Council not to close the McFadden Branch Library. <br />CITY COUNCH.
