S. Rigging Supply, to the Santa <br />Ana Workforce Investment Board. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On March 6, 2000, the City Council adopted a resolution establishing the <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and appointed 33 members. In <br />accordance with the Federal legislation, a majority of the Board and the <br />Board Chair must represent the private sector. The remaining Board seats <br />represent education, non-profit organizations, one-stop mandated partners <br />and local labor organizations. <br />Currently, there are six vacancies on the Board consisting of three <br />mandated private sector seats, one economic development organization <br />seat, one community based organization seat and one local labor <br />organization seat. After an extensive recruitment campaign and interview <br />process, the WIB is recommending this candidate for appointment to the <br />Board. <br />The private sector nominee is Gaylord Whipple, C.E.O., U. S. Rigging <br />Supply. His resume and nomination form are attached (Exhibit 1). Staff <br />will continue to work to fill the remaining vacancies on the Board. <br />13B-1 <br />
